Sophia McHugh

Executive Team

Sophia McHugh is the Program Coordinator of the Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School. In this role, she organizes events for the Center and works with faculty and staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the Center's daily operations.

Prior to joining the Millstein Center’s executive team, Sophia worked at various law firms, gaining experience in corporate law, criminal law, and tort law. She has recently returned to the United States from London, where she was a member of the Capital Markets team at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. While there, she assisted in creating, closing, and tracking high-yield corporate bond deals between European companies and United States investors. 

Sophia received her B.A. in Psychology from Columbia College, where she was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Summa Cum Laude. As an undergraduate, Sophia participated in various New York City organizations and community service projects that focused on criminal justice, access to education, and combatting urban poverty.
