Rakhi Kumar is Senior Vice President at Liberty Mutual, where she leads efforts to integrate sustainability across the global enterprise. She is responsible for developing environmental, social and governance (ESG) integration strategies for the different business lines in close collaboration with business leaders and for advising the businesses in its implementation.
Rakhi joined Liberty in May 2020, prior to which she led State Street Global Advisors’ ESG Investing and Asset Stewardship activities. Rakhi has also worked at Moody's Investors Service, the Institute of International Finance, and Booz Allen among other organizations.
Rakhi is a globally recognized leader in the area of sustainability and was recognized as such by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). She has also been identified as Boston's 100 Most Influential People of Color by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, The Boston Foundation and Get Konnected!, and is a recipient of the Abigail Adams Award for her work in promoting gender diversity on corporate boards.
She is an Advisory Board Member on the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School and has earned her MBA (’02) from Yale University and her Bachelors of Commerce (’95) from Bombay University. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1997.
